Child safety seat manufacturer Recaro just announced a recall for their ProRIDE car seat models (made between April 2010 and June 2015) and their Performance Ride seats (made between January 2013 and June 2015). The top tether anchor can detach from the child seat during a crash, increasing the risk of injury to the child and other passengers.
This notice comes only a year after the company recalled their ProSport model car seats for failing to meet federal safety standards for their lower anchor hardware.
The company is offering a repair kit & instructions, free of charge, to all owners of the recalled ProRIDE and Performance Ride seats. Contact Recaro to check if your model is part of this recall or to order the repair kit at 1-866-628-4750. Or you can email their customer service team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
