Three Free Events for Kids in Machias this Weekend

Several great opportunities this weekend to get your kids involved in some outdoor fun and activities.

Kicking things off Friday afternoon is the annual Children’s Parade in Machias.  Each year the Washington County Children’s Program organizes a fantastic parade of kids and clowns, music, balloons, and lots of laughs.  Kids and their parents can start lining up at 5:45 by the Machias Valley Baptist Church on Broadway in Machias. The parade starts at 6pm.

Right after the parade take your kids over to the UMM Performing Arts Center for a free juggling show with family entertainer Zach Field.  The show is geared for children of all ages.  Show time starts at 7pm.

On Saturday take your kids over to UMM’s campus for an afternoon of outdoor games, art projects, singing, dancing, food tasting and fun!  Designed for families with babies and preschoolers, the Flaherty Early Care and Education Center’s Live Without Limits event welcomes children of all ages from 2pm – 5:30 on the outdoor mall at UMM.

All of these activities are free and open to the public!
