Congratulations to this year’s graduating class! On Saturday Washington County Passages students will receive their diplomas with a graduation celebration on the UMM Campus at 1pm in the Clipper Lounge.
Passages is a home-based learning program where teen parents can earn their accredited high school diploma while taking care of their child(ren). They meet with their instructor once a week and connect with them on the phone and over the internet as needed. Throughout the course of the program students attend several workshop sessions and get involved with a local agency of their choice to provide six hours of community service.
The Passages program is available in several counties throughout Maine. Click here for more information on how the program works with young parents to help them earn their high school diploma while studying a combination of parenting, academic, and life skills.
